2022 has been extremely busy for us here at The Hood Collective. So much so that we've fallen behind in sharing some of our latest projects. There's a lot going on, including our first event in New York City, to the point that I won't be able to mention them all here. But here are a few of our favorite highlights from the last few months.
And if you're looking for cannabis lifestyle photography or event photography, don't hesitate to reach out and schedule a free consultation and quote.
First up, recent events:
The Hood Collective Debuts In New York City With Treez Event
Treez is a New York-based enterprise cloud commerce platform that simplifies retail and supply chain operations in the cannabis industry. With its cutting-edge technology for retailers and brands, the company delivers a broad and deep set of software solutions to successfully operate a modern dispensary.
They hired The Hood Collective to cover their meet and greet with CEO John Yang at local cannabis hotspot (that doesn't like to be mentioned online for obvious reasons). We partnered with New Jersey photographer Tim Sexton to cover the event for us. As with all the cannabis events we cover, fun was had by all.
Check out some of the highlights:
The Hood Collective Photographs Marijuana Matters Screening In Downtown Portland
Marijuana Matters is a non-profit organization that is working to educate the public about how public policies related to cannabis and cannabis-derived products are negatively impacting society. They are currently traveling around the country showing a short film interviewing people who have been adversely affected by the war on drugs and discussing solutions.
The Hood Collective was at the Portland event last month to take photos, and you can see the results below:
On Site Cannabis Photography At Q'anápsu Dispensary
Q'anápsu is a new dispensary located in Southern Washington just across from the Ilani Casino off I-5. Q'anápsu is a tribal dispensary, owned and operated by the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, and they have hired The Hood Collective to design their new website, manage their social media, and create photography and video content, including drone footage of their new dispensary when it opens.
While their permanent facility is still under construction, Q'anápsu has initiated a soft opening at a converted food truck in the parking lot across from the casino. We have already done one premises photo shoot, including headshots of all their new employees.
We've also created a suite of graphics for their social media presence, as well as started making videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok.
Cannabis Lifestyle Photography Shoot For Broomsticks
Last but not least, just in time for Halloween, The Hood Collective teamed up with the good folks at Nimble to stage a witchy photo shoot for their brand new prerolls line, Broomsticks. With a portion of every sale going to guarantee abortion access, this was more than just a fun time.
We gathered multiple models dressed up in witch's costumes in Portland's Forest Park. To capture the dark and moody style, we had to haul quite a bit of lighting gear, plus some colored smoke bombs, nearly a mile into the woods, but the results were worth it.
